The soldiers who were on guard at Umarari-Molai outskirts of Maiduguri, said they identified the attackers at about 5 am while trying to gain access to Maiduguri; one was shot and wounded while two others immediately detonated IEDs wrapped around their bodies.

According to Civilian JTF source, all the female bombers were about 12 to 15 years of age.
