An 11-year-old boy in Bangladesh has shared the sad story of how he has to work as a manual laborer to support his little sister and their sick mom. Rahat shared his story with photojournalist GMB Akash, who in turn shared it on his popular Facebook page together with a picture of the boy and his sister.

Rahat said his little sister named Bristy has to spend the day with him at work because their mom is always unwell. He shared how she likes to bite him with her emerging teeth.

Rahat went on to say that although the menial work is painful and hurts his fingers, he doesn’t tell him mother. He added that whatever little he gets, he spends it on food for himself, Bristy and their mother.

Rahat concluded: “When Bristy will grow up, I will send her to school. I will never let her to do anything that will cause her any pain.”
